A new group is forming at SWUU. It’s for people who want to explore the spiritual, scientific and hopeful aspects of the current state of our beloved earth, and our relationship with it. We will begin this discussion by reading “Active Hope: How to Face the Mess We’re in Without Going Crazy” by Joanna Macy and Chris Johnstone. This book was presented at a GAIA workshop attended last year by David Slawson and Evin Carvill-Ziemer, and offers hope and advice for what the future may bring.

Our first meeting will be this Weds., 4/22, Earth Day, from 7-8:30PM. We will read aloud from the book, and talk about why we are there, and what our hopes and concerns are about the planet. We will also talk about a permanent meeting day – we will choose a day that works for everyone interested, if at all possible. Please let me know if you cannot be there on Weds., but would like to attend in the future. Be sure to include the days of the week that you are available. We are envisioning a twice-a-month gathering.

David Slawson and I are convening the group. Please contact either of us if you have further questions, or are interested.

Happy Earth Day!
