For new people, I would like to present an outdoor opportunity with a small time commitment.  Each year, we are responsible for showing up and cleaning up the area around the ramp from I71 to Pearl Road.  We have been doing this for over 10 years, but we need to have some more people help out.  We meet around 9:45 in the parking lot of Islander apartments (for signing the release form)  and then we divide up and work in pairs to pick up as much trash as we can.  Garbage bags and plastic gloves are provided, as well as safety vests.  We usually finish up right around 10:00 so you have the rest of your day to enjoy!   It is a really nice way to help  make our world look a little nicer and you can also get to know other church members.  It also allows us to have a sign on I71 near the exit ramp with our name on it!  We would love to get a few new younger faces, as we have lost some of our volunteers due to physical limitations.  If you have a child who is 12  years or older, they are welcome to come with you, as well.  Please reach out to me to let me know you might be interested and to find out more about what it entails.  You don’t need to come every time; I send out a reminder email the week before to see what is available.
